carbon xr650r

Post  carbonz4me on Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:56 pm

I blew up my xr650r last year i suppose i was lucky realy as it only needed a piston.......then i lost the plot and couldent stop tweekin untill the image i had in my head was born!! what do you think ? heres the spec-
102.4mm rebore (now 680cc)
wiseco 11:1 high compression piston
stage 1 hotcam
new rockers
cdi rev box (extra 1000rpm aparrently)
k+n air filter
full akrapovic exhaust
68s pilot jet
175 main jet
stealth trailtech clocks
asv levers
original bodykit skinned with genuine carbon fibre. (youtube how to skin parts with carbon fibre) its harder than he makes it look!
black powder coated frame+ subframe
17" morad rims + talon hubs
and every nut and bolt removed polished and replaced.
All this made possible by reading sites like this one and most parts came from the u.s.a coz most of england dont do xrs they missin something coz these things are the dogz!!!
The bike runs better now than when standard, starts cold without needing choke and dosent miss a beat hot or cold, it does smoke a little after a good run only when reving stationary as soon as you set off it stops? i dont think this is a problem if anything its prob rinning slightly rich. let me know your thoughts, respect.

The girlfreind wasnt too happy at me for sealing the bedroom off, filling it with plastic and resin, raising the temp to over 40 deg c and leaving her no option but to sleep on the sofa for a week mad as heck but these comments make it al worthwhile, nice 1,ricko Smile
