I Owe You!
Yikes! I didn't see that. How can you put XR650R in the title and then say it won't fit below? Anyway, I opened a case with Ebay. I'll let you know what happens. Do you drink wine?

It can be made to work
I fitted a 90 XR650L hub to my 00 XR650R. You will either need some shims ( I used some CR500 clutch washers) or have some new spacers made. If you want Bump I can get the thickness of the washers for ya.

Obviously the seller should've edited the auction title when he added the 'does not fit..' stuff. It does seem a bit deceptive though.
Had a quick look last night at http://www.talon-eng.co.uk/ but couldn't find that part number. It might be discontinued or a US only item. As Clipity has suggested that the right sized shims are all that's required, excellent news. I'd email Talon and see if they can give you the exact specs for this mod. They supplied me with a 320mm Braking disc and Talon caliper bracket, and were very helpful with my enquiries.
Have a look through http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/XR650R/ as this hub fitment thing was being discussed years ago. If I remember right, the rear hub is more problematic with fitting XR600 onto 650R. One guy did a nice mod of CBR600 wheels onto his XR.
Cheers,
Phil

I swear that wasn't there when I bought it
I called eBay and ran the whole thing by them. The guy on the other end wouldn't exactly tell me what was going on but he did say the ad had been updated very recently. And he said not to worry because in this case either the seller or Ebay would be refunding all the money including sending me a shipping label for returning the hub.

not sure...
Agreed but I got on the Talon web site and they said there's a lot of people selling their stuff on eBay for applications other than what they engineered it for. It's a bitchin hub but I think I'll pass on it.
I was gonna save it to trade for something. The OEM stuff is plenty good enough for my skills. I wish it weren't...
I think for $118 I would hold on to it and just shim it or even flip it and make a few bucks.

How much weight does one of these save you, anyway?

none
perhaps a tiny amount, and it's sprung weight, but it'd never make any difference to any of us.
It's all bling!
