Post  Bump on Tue Nov 10, 2009 12:58 pm

Stumbled onto this looking for something else but I think there have been a few queries about it recently.

Here is the jetting I am using on my TM 40. I picked it up off a Borynack thread somewhere. If I find it again I will post a link as it was full of good info

I have a stock exahust bike was never corked runs up to 1400 feet.

Pilot air jet BS30/97-1.2

Pilot Jet VM28/486-25

Main Jet N100.604-140

Needle Jet 784-13002-Y4

The bike runs very well set up like this.

I am going to raise the vent pipes as it has cut out in deep water.

Thanks Hew,

mounted my TM40 yesterday and took it for 2 spins: first one without accel-rod, second one with cheers
Actually I was surprised it ran so well with "guesstimated" settings, and could not resist to put the rod in to see what's what: happy to see it 'freewheely on demand' now Wink
Next I'll finetune the setup (got loadsa jets/needles etc to play with), will inform when.

Raising Vent Pipes

Post  Bump on Wed Apr 27, 2011 8:32 pm

Hew,

If you are gonna raise the carb vent pipes then you might as well run them back over/above the carb and into the airbox. Team Honda did that for awhile and it made the bike faster in whoops by solving some issues. They had a few fixes for that BTW. PC Racing makes a kit for it.

Good luck!
