KTM Fan on the BRP

Post  modette on Sat Aug 15, 2009 4:54 pm

Here is the fan I ordered from www.ktm-parts.com, it fits up nicely. I then made a bracket out of Aluminum that I picked up at my local ACE Hardware store. It worked out really good. Still have to wire it up to a switch, but I am waiting for the Rectifier to come in from Baja Designs. Also as you can see I shaved part of the fan so the Acebis tank will fit nicely too without rubbing.

What is the thickness of this setup, I want to measure to see if it would fit with my Clarke 4.3 tank?

I have no clue...I thought I read over on ADVrider that it would not work with the Clark tank, I could be wrong though.

I read that as well which is why I was asking...Didn't know if it was slight enough to heat the tank and push it in a little like mounting the FCR carb or if it required too much. As well I don't know if I believe that it doesn't work since comparing to my stock tank... it doesn't protrude too much (just eye-balling it)

Not specifically for fitting it with that tank. There's a link above in my post with my fan install.

It will not work with an IMS-tanker, my block on a dick - but you didn't ask that.
I know, but just so you know, I dunno the Acerbis but will take Focker & Hodaka's word for it.
This fan's a good idea, you won't regret it.
