Ridge Riding the Columbia River

From a recent ride on my XRR. Following a KLR in the orchards and vineyards overlooking the Columbia River in SE Washington.

Looks like a nice ride. I've never taken that route before, may have to give it a try.

Where is it and how do you get there? Is there public access?

Well, it was a combination of true adventure riding...seeking out the nooks and crannies. And it was partly conveniently finding a path without any No Trespassing signs. I started essentially in the Road 100 and I-182 area and just tried to stay as close to the river and minimize riding on roads.

Probably the critical point was here. Up the hill and into the orchard. No signs, however, my friend went back a week later and told not to ride there anymore.

I also couldn't get any farther north here and had to backtrack and use roads to get around. I think had I had a nice 12 foot long board and a few people I could have crossed.

There was one more "pitch" that was chock full of No Trespassing signs, but I happen to know the owner and he invited me to ride. He's on odd duck though and doubt he wants a bunch of XR's tooling around.

Then you're to Ringold.

And in my former misspent youth...I've been so far north from there...that I actually rode back home by way of Radar Hill. So, other than the stretch that turns west to Vernita and a couple little pockets I feel like I've got the Franklin County side of the river pretty well covered once.
