The trail tech puter

Post  bakeray on Tue Mar 10, 2009 1:19 am

Started the install today and I have to say the plastic mount is cheap and wont work. Since Im a sheet metal guy by trade I made my own mount. When I came to the power wire hook up part I really didnt understand the hook it to the stator part.

Instead of going that route Im going to get into my RC car batterys and make a pack for it. Found a place on the bike to mount it so thats not a problem.

Ill let you know how it works out naughty

The trail tech is installed on the pig except the speedo. Instead of that part I changed the coolant and the oil then went over the bike tightning everything. The speedo should be in this weekend.

Ill try it out this week

Took longer than planned but its done.

The BRP

Mounted

The coolant sensor. I chose this hose because it was easy to get to. It may change

Instead of drilling the rotor I found a hole that was almost the right size for the speedo magnet.

Ill get the billit protector later but for now this works

When you do install it I found the magnetic bolt they supply wont work. It was the easy way so I tried it first. I used the speedo sensor magnet they supplied in a slot it would fit in tightly. Took a few tries but it should fit in one of the factory slots. It took a little tapping with a hammer to get it to seat.
