Anyone running this clutch cover:

It sells for $20. Made out of thick aluminum.

Husky123 has something very similar on his XRR. Or maybe his XRL...or is it the XR200...or was it the Husky. Frustrated

It's not the whole clutch cover per se but just a cover. But then again you probably new that. I have it. Just silicone it on. Hasn't come off in over a year and I'm pretty sure it has saved at least 2 holes. That stock clutch cover is BRITTLE. Ask me how I know. listen up

Just ordered one myself nice Of course I will have to powder coat it flat black when it gets here.

Looks like a great accessory.

I just ordered one, as well.

Thanks for the heads-up, Aurora.

Clutch Cover

Post  Johnny Rocco on Tue Aug 18, 2009 10:54 am

I ordered one for Moab this May, installed it and promptly tested its' mettle twice.

Once, sandwiching my foot between the clutch cover and a boulder. Boulder/clutch cover 1, foot 0. hurt

Second time bouncing off some knarly roots after an aborted hillclimb. Dead even, no damage to roots or cover Wink.

Not as asthetically pleasing as the stock cover, but certainly functional.

I like the look of the Powder coated black case that Hodakaguy had on his bike, every little bit helps!

mine came with this 'cover'
it actually looks like a glue on piece of metal

still better than a hole in the case
or spending 150 on a sturdier the stock cover

I picked up one the other day on Ebay. I put it on and it looks pretty good and I'm sure it will help protect the clutch cover.

yep after I punched a hole in mine I ordered two (one for the bros bike). Seems what the doc ordered. Amazing how easy they can crack.
