That seems strange to me, he must have huge concerns you wont pay him or something??

Has he still agreed to take the $3500 or does he want the $4K if he comes up, none of by business but I just hope he's not charging you $500 to come and make things right, essentially?

I think its great he's doing this either way but this should not be the topic of conversation right now. You should be riding this thing already.

mate to tell the truth i wouldnt drink a beer with him , i just want him to fit my motor as the reason is that i suspect he has dry fitted the parts , so he's paranoid i wont get oil up b4 i try to fire it

to his credit the man has backed up his offer to fly up and get me to being a happy customer so i must give him the chance

so come sat arvo i should be on the throttle , and now i just seen that 2000 xrr motor on flebay for under a grand , im keen to buy it Very Happy

i learnt alot from Nick , he has some knowledge of these bikes, so much so that he blitzed them all when he was building these bikes for the Aus safari

would i recommend him ,YES
do i think he has some funny ways of communicating YES , but most experts in there field do much the same as Nick did

IE leave me alone and let me do my job Very Happy

does my bike run hard .... oh hell yes ,cannot wait to get it sorted on the jets , ill take it for a ride tomorrow and put a bigger grin on my face ,, the 3rd gear pwr stands are fun tho , it never did that b4 with the gearing im running , so tells me the motor pulls hard , i do like the HRC cam grind i have ,and she spins up quicker with the weight off the flywheel

Sean good to hear that you are sorted now 2 thumbs
I am wondering what gearing are you running and what is your average cruising speed , as it seems the bike likes it and its capable to reach this high miles/km's .

15/47 seems to work the best IMO it covers a wide range of terrain
when out on long trips the bike will cruse all day long on 120/130 kms 70/80mph

i took it for a run tonight up the street ,it pulled very hard to 147kms , short shifting the gears

think it will go better when i get the jets sorted out
tm40 with 140 main 27.5 pilot ,2 turns on the air mix and pumper backed off atm

bike snuffs and farts at the moment and has a hanging idle ,when on the main it goes good but i cant tell if its as good as it can be till i get the pilot right and the air mix , that or i also have a leak somewhere but i cant see how , bloody carbs , i cant stand them sometimes beat head

It does sound like a air leak for sure , so the O ring could be the problem .

Bet that was a fun ride.

What does he do with the side cases, paint them, replace them or are the same as when they were removed?
