Screwie question

Post  R056rx on Mon Feb 03, 2014 9:34 pm

Maybe a daft question, but I'm in the middle of checking and cleaning my carb on my recent purchase. I've just taken out the pilot screw to check it and it's come out looking ok, followed by the spring then the washer. I can't get the O ring out yet, but I haven't really tried very hard. I'm assuming its in there!

My question is this....  There seems to be a couple of schematic diagrams on the www

http://www.xr650r.co.uk/drawings/Carburetor.gif

And http://www.honda-xr650r.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Honda_XR650R_Carburetor_Exploded_View.jpg

The first being the most common.

If you have a close look at the pilot screw in the diagrams, the first shows it installed spring first, then washer, then O ring, then screw.
The second shows O ring first, then washer, then spring, then screw.

What's the right order? Common sense tells me O ring first, but now I'm wondering!  scratch

"O" Ring First
Washer Next
Then Spring
Finally Screw

Does that sound OK  listen up

Thanks Mauser. I've just checked and the 2nd diagram is actually the one in the Honda workshop manual. It shows the O ring first and confirms what you say.  nice

Strange that the other diagram, which is much more common on the net, is wrong Exclamation Exclamation
