Clutch Drag

Post  Mauser on Mon Apr 23, 2012 5:20 pm

Hi guys,
Parked the bike on a slope today and dropped her into gear to stop her rolling back...came to puch her further up the slope; pulled the clutch in and noticed a fair amount of clutch drag. Stuck her on the stand and whilst in 1st with clutch pulled in noticed it's fairly stiff to pull the rear wheel around, not impossible but stiff...more than I would have thought ?.
Bike drops into 1st gear fine and gears are all good up and down whilst riding etc just worried about the drag ?, oil changed recently and clutch adjusted correctly.... listen up
Anyone care to try the same with their bike ?, please don't get your hand caught in the rear wheel do this whilst the engine is off.

If you're not 101% sure you do have the new-shape clutch bushing........ then I think I know what it is Wink
Better replace it before it eats the shaft. The bush is easy to replace, not so the shaft.

I rang Honda and asked about any recalls due to the clutch bearing and local dealer they all think my bike will have the new style bush fitted..... razz
I don't spend time @ light sitting in gear with the clutch in...I am down the lanes enjoying myself razz
