Need help on changing my headlight to a number plate

Hey folks, i bought my brp recently and the headlight & upper/lower headlight plastic were missing. The complete headlight seems to cost $100-$150 and i don't do much, if any, night riding. Does anyone know if a simple cr250 (or any model) number plate will fit on my brp without looking goofy? I'd rather spend the headlight money on a new rear tire for the spring. Thanks fella's. By the way...it's a 2001 with a white bros r4 exhaust, oversized front brakes, and factory fx graphics, dual sport tires mounted and a new front dirt tire was included. $1400!!!!!! I bought it about an hour after it was posted on craigslist-i couldn't pass it up. I'll post pics asap
