Another Pig Farmer

Hey guys (and girls),

Yet another Pig lover from Vancouver Island,British Columbia. I gotta say GREAT FORUM!!! I have had other brands of bikes but recenttly traded my daughters old quad for a BRP. I still have a Big White Pig (94 XR650L)that is heavily modded but NEEDED to have the R model as well. What can I say...this thing RIPS, its got a pipe and is un-corke, I rewound the stator and am about to copy one of the rear fender braces off of this site and DS kit the bike up . My question for anybody is when I DS the bike up ,why bother to go with D.C. electrics as I have found a guys wiring diagram over at ADV Rider to leave the whole bike A.C. and not run a battery or rectifier? I have never run a GPS (How lost can you get on an island?) and anything I would run will work with A.C. Pros...Cons... Any feedback would be appreciated.

I added a rectifier as getting an ac horn to make any noise seemed impossible....needed horn for MOT test.
