Might get a second XRR or a CR500R

Post  AURORA on Thu Nov 10, 2011 7:47 pm

I am thinking about getting a second bike. This would be loaner for friends to ride when they visit but will probably mainly me riding it. Thus thinking of a second XR650R or a CR500R.

Any good deals out there on either bike?

But I have seen some nearly free CR500s. Plus the costs would be less with the CR. And you'd have an epic dune bike.

Right now in the Sacramento Craigslist is an XR600 for 1300.00. Not a CR500 or pig but the price is right.
Any particular year 500? I have a 1991 and it's still scary fast.

A 2000 or 2001 CR500. Though, for what people are asking, price wise, for their CR's, I might just hold out until I can find a good price on a CR500AF conversion. The up to date frame and suspension would probably be a vast improvement over the steel frame and suspension of the CR500s.
