Hey from Yamhill county, OR

I'm a new guy here and to the XR650R. Just picked up an '01 for $2300 already cleaned the carb & tank, re-jetted, set the valves, swapped in a new plug, cleaned the air filter, added an in-line fuel filter and fresh gas. It was running good the day i picked it up but got progressively worse. Plug indicated Rich, hence all the early maint. Seems to kick ass now, but still has a lean miss. Maybe carb boot?

Anyway glad this site is here, it has already been a great help.

Funny you mention that Jimmy, coz we indeed had a braai yesterday (that's 'baabie' in down under). Sun's coming out here now, so we stop hibernating and start living outside again, just like the way we want it.
Bit embarrassing too for us infamous carnivores, because we didn't have meat, just some veggies: chicken and erm, well, don't shoot me, Pork

You got a beautiful place to ride man! I live in east Tn. While it has some nice views, it is offten interupted with trailer parks and dump sites . We used to ride anywhere we wanted but know every thing is posted and we gotta trailer our bikes somewhere to ride on large tracks of land. I hear loging is big buisness up your way. Can you ride on old loging roads, or are they off limits?

Most logging roads are open. A few timber co's will gate off roads, but most are accessible.
