Wrap around the plug' wire, in the middle between coil & plug-cap.
According to Vapor you may T-off into the system, but you're on your own here!
If something goes wrong your bike may not run, and this cannot happen if you simply wrap it around - hence electrically insulated, it just picks up a little induction (kinda magnetic).
"Tune" the Vapor by deminishing/adding wraps as per the manual, it'll work.

Tach wire

Post  xabntroop on Sun Aug 28, 2011 10:07 am

I did mine the same way but had about 12 wraps around the coil wire. When I fired up my pig it was off the charts....So I took off 7 wraps and did 5 like the manual said. Same thing....off the charts, I eventually realized I had the tach wire switched with the temp gauge ? It was the only other one that I could have switched, anyway it works fine now. I tried using the method the manual suggests for calibrating the speedo. Never even came close. I took about 20 rides down the edge of a tomatoe field with my GPS and adjusted the numbers until it was exact, now it is really an accurate tool, it seems the default numbers for wheel diameter are off a bit in the manual, at least for me.
