Cute lil' boy next to a filthy Pig....... can't be older than 2?
The boy I mean
Can't see from your pics the headers, if they've got the 'choked' sections in them - post a pic?

Yip, as I thought, choked headers
Hey look, they work..... only 'open' one's work better
See the weld/splice just under the radiator's bolt? That piece, from there to the head, is the thinner part. Other side ditto.
So, Lolo, this IS good news...... you can put better headers on

Lolo,
you've got mail on that Eddress you gave me - I sent that Excel-file with lotsa info in it.
Yes, I mean change header - if you want that is. You'll get more power, especially so with a good aftermarket silencer rather than the standard pipe, even when converted.
XR-Only sell headers, in fact I've got these same one's: http://www.xrsonly.com/dirt-bike-parts-1/honda-dirt-bike-parts/honda-xr-models/honda-xr650r/xrs-only-exhaust-header-honda-xr650r
But you may want more? http://www.xrsonly.com/dirt-bike-parts-1/honda-dirt-bike-parts/honda-xr-models/honda-xr650r?limit=30&p=1
You want to read this site too, all of it: http://borynack.com/XR650R/
But maybe begin with this one? http://www.dirtrodders.com/xr650r/faq.html#1
Yeah, lotsa reading...... but you asked, and it can't do no harm at all!
Have fun Lolo, and enjoy your bike, that's basically all there is to it - even when you don't do a gazillion mod's, because after all an uncorked bike is good enough.
