Pannier Racks

Has anyone Built or Brought Pannier racks for the Xr, Im DSoing a Bit of touring on th eold girl now and have just purchased some steel Pony Saddle bags, Any Pictures or ideas would be awesome

not on any current XR but
over time I had the same style rack on my my XL200R, DR650SE and F650Dakar

Just do the Giant Loop and forget about the racks.

highly doubt these giant thingies are as cheap and easy to handle as my panniers are
a set of waterproof click style bicycle panniers - mine are Ortlieb backrollers off ebay
plus $5 material and 5 minutes of welding the rack, bolt on and you have a very light weight,
save, quick connect luggage system
you commute on 2 wheels?
'click' and your luggage is on, 100mph tested,
bags not full? zip-zip panniers synche down snug
downpour? no problem at all
at your destination 'click' you're ready to go

It just depends what you want to do with the luggage. If you want to ride it like a dirt bike the giant loop products work great. You are right they are not cheap but are built to last and can easily be moved from bike to bike.

magickennyj here is my photos and Video the retro fit is connected to an XR's only rack and my own custom made tail assembily that mounts brake light signal lights and licence plate it is connected to the XR's only rack.
