Spark Arrestor?

Post  Geromane on Tue May 18, 2010 11:32 pm

Hi all,

I want to drill out my new Spark arrestor, which I bought from ebay. Can you give me a proposal how to drill out the core.

I don't want, that the exhaust is too loud, because in Germany the police has very good ears

Should I drill out the hole core?

da 'treffen' sich die Deutschen XR650R Fahrer
und die koennen Dir genau sagen, was im Laendle geht und was nicht

Mate, just get a 2" hole saw on your drill and that will remove the restrictor and not make it too loud, just right in my opinion.

too loud is anything louder than what is stated in the bikes paperwork
differs even between XR650Rs because they all are 'gray imports'
definitely a dB number in the 80s

so be careful with your suggestions on 'no too loud'
in Germany the local law enforcement would impound my pig without asking any questions
here no one even turns their head
because most frigging Harley thingies are even louder

affix a piece of pipe to the end of the can that turns down 90 degrees to face the ground. You can likely get one cheap at a muffler shop as they bend pipe all the time.
