The down side to this is...If you have this site bookmarked...You would have to change it.

A potential bummer might be losing the nice keyword, "honda," in the URL. This could be somewhat made up for on page titles, but I'm thinking the search engines would pick up the site a bit better with "honda" in the URL. I've never tried to optimize a community forum, so I could be dead wrong. My business sites rank well, though.

Ok...I pulled the trigger on www.xr650rforum.com today. Notice the new banner I put together with ride shots of our members. Thanks guys for giving me permission to do so. Hopefully the new name will be easier for you to share with your friends. I didn't "mask" the site name so you shouldn't have to change your bookmarks or sig files on other sites. Also if I had masked the site name to show "xr650rforum.com" you wouldn't be able to share page specific threads...The address bar would always show "xr650rforum.com" and link back to the home page.

I gave this a lot of consideration then it hit me...The whole point of starting a XR650R forum was to NOT have forum overload diluted with other models.

As long as we're throwing around quotation marks...Yes I "made" the "logo" by "cropping" out "ride shots" of our very own "forum members". I like to "dabble" with graphic design every now and then.

UPDATE:
I changed the CNAME in my DNS account where I bought the .com...So what does that mean? It means this forum is hosted at www.hondaxr650r.forummotion.com (which still works as a link to this site) but if you type in www.xr650rforum.com you won't see the old long unoriginal name anymore. To most nobody will care...To me it looks more professional. Besides I've been home sick and thought I would do some site tweaking.
