I went out for a ride today...man I probably should have waited Until Thursday, as Monday we had 50-60mph winds with Pikes Peak getting 110mph gust. So in other words a lot of trees are down.

It really stinks when you come to a downed tree and you have no where to go, the hill is too steep to push the bike up and get it turned around, and the bike is slightly too tall to just walk it under the downed tree. In the end I got it by...but more or less by accident as I was messing around with ...

The Snail, the Tortoise and the Big Red Pig

Big Red Pig, that is me, or rather my bike, an XR650R.

My trip to Namibia started two years ago when I went for a spin on a mate’s just purchased KTM 950. So impressed I was with the bike that I started looking around for a second hand one. Speaking to a guy in PE, he incidentally asked me where I saw the add for his bike, in the Autotrader or on the Wild Dogs site….Wild dogs WHAT??

I browsed on over, and like they say, the rest was history. ...

There are 7 videos in all, starting at Tollgate OR and following us all the way to the end of the trip, 1100 miles of fun!

You can double click the vids to watch them full sceen and click HD to see the best picture.

I decided to bomb down China Hat Road to see how far I could get before the snow stoped me.

Stop-off at Horse Butte. Nice views from up here.

Back to bombing the gravel road. Hmmm, no snow at 4500'.

But, at 5000' it comes on quick. I only made it about another 5 miles further before heading back. Too icy and sketchy today.

Well about 3 miles in at the start of the ride we had a casualty. Alan (mamacone) was turning around doing all of 2 mph and slipped. He landed on his finger and SNAP. Bummmer!

We assembled at Chicken’s very early Saturday morning and got ready for a 5.30am start, yes 5.30am!!

The night before Chicken, Boulder and I had done some work on the trailer so everything was ready

Here’s the crew ready to go very early
