Howdy Folks:

Recently, after running a couple hours late on a dual sport ride, I noticed the stock headlight on my '02 XR650R kinda sucks! The state sez the point of a headlight is to be seen by other drivers, but I hate it when the path in front of me is not clearly illuminated.

Any suggestions on a headlight upgrade for casual night riding? I'm not talkin' ripping through the dark, desert terrain, here. Just a good light to get me home in the darkness, when needed.

I got some new parts yesterday so I headed out to the garage today to put them on. I bought the Tusk CR Hi bend bars and the Tusk bar risers. I had the Tusk bars on my 05 XR650l and liked them so I bought another pair. Man what a difference it feel's like a new bike. My ride in Socal the (? bend Renthal bars) felt way way to low and it was hard to ride standing up. Now the bars are the right height and I feel good standing. I used all the spacers in the Tusk kit and the cables are just long enough, ...

I have the Scotts upper triple with submount setup and want to run the HDB top clamp, Acewell (w/dash) billet protector and keyswitch/powerlet.

Problem: The bolt pattern I just measured on the Scotts triple is 100mmX40mm and none of the 3 options offered for Honda match that. However, the Yamaha page has that option?!?

No reply from their website/email yet, and there's no phone number to call.

Now with the tapped out holes, and larger bolts I figured I still add a support so that I know can basically can stand on the rear XRSOnly aluminum rack.

It took heating and whacking it with a small sledge but I was able to bend out two supports. Also the supports allow the xrsonly aluminum rack to align better with the seat bolt holes. The reason that it aligns better is because the rack is made to fit the European XR650R's which have the added subframe brace that allows the aluminum rack ...

I think you can only run a tube on the rear. Ogilvie said that. You can run a mousse or those tire balls up front is there's some advantage for you.

But you'd have some issues getting to tire on the bead without a tube. You can fill the tire with Bic lighter gas and pop it on with a spark. If you run the HD tubes and are still having a lot of flats then I'd consider running a liner or using an old tube for a liner. Plus you can run low in dunes and stuff with a tube.
